Application Hosting Engineer Location: Bristol or Edinburgh Competitive Salary Realistic Progression Opportunities Technical Training & Development Award Winning Employee Share Plan Company Pension Flexible Working Hours 25 Days Holiday Excellent Working Culture This is a fantastic opportunity for an Application Hosting Engineer to join our Computershare Technology Service’s team (CTS) which provide global technology and infrastructure service’s for existing Computershare proprietary software , together with a full range of development services for new products. What will you be doing? As an Application Hosting Engineer, you are responsible for maintaining and deploying Computershare’s software across our Production and Test environments. As a member of the Hosting team you will be responsible for managing the appropriate Windows Server Environments, SSL and F5 LTM Configuration and the delivery of internal projects. You will contribute to Computershare’s technology stack by enhancing existing processes, including a substantial initiative towards automation. The team is responsible for managing Computershare’s build and deployment platforms and utilising them to drive towards continuous delivery. You will have awareness of the ‘Everything as Code’ approach and constantly look to standardise key processes and make good use of scripting languages such as PowerShell. The team is reliant on close collaboration with both operational and development teams. Acting as consultants, Hosting Engineers are expected to assist other technology teams to ensure the delivery of robust applications and services. Required Experience Strong analytical, troubleshooting and debugging skills, with the ability to collect and analyse complex material and data, and present it in accessible formats Strong customer facing and communication skills - written and verbal, with a high attention to detail. Exposure to enterprise level application hosting Exposure to business analysis, release management and service delivery Exposure to process automation, PowerShell Automation and scripting Previous experience in setting up large and highly resilient infrastructure configurations in multiple datacentres. Exposure to Azure or other cloud computing practices and methodologies is highly advantageous Exposure to CI/CD tools such as OctopusDeploy, TeamCity, Proget, Jenkins, etc. will also be highly regarded Specific Technologies Preferable VSphere, Microsoft .NET Stack, Windows Server, F5 LTM, Octopus Deploy, Team City, ProGet, PowerShell, Azure Please be aware that this role does include a requirement for some out of hours work to support projects and software releases. Computershare has several offices in the UK; some inter-site travel may be required on occasion.
