Overview
Job Title - Junior IT Support Engineer Contract - Permanent Location - South East London / Kent Salary - GBP25,000 - GBP28,000 Job Purpose: Provide 1st and 2nd line IT Support to onsite and remote users providing a first point of call to users · Triage calls in Jira Helpdesk and prioritize business critical requirements, escalating to 3rd line where necessary · Responsible for reviewing and reporting start of day logs and health checks and resolving issues that arise. · Responsible for daily backup completion and collection · Managing AD accounts including Azure and Okta accounts · Setting up new workstations and laptops · Involvement in networking · Installation of software for internal customers · Requisitioning new hardware\software · Involved in monthly weekend maintenance and patching of hardware and software · Working within third party suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve issues · Server access will become available for a variety of systems maintenance upon experience within the role including the VM Hypervisor systems · Involvement in project work with 3rd line support · This is a tremendous growth opportunity for a very bright, confident and energetic individual with a can-do attitude to join our team that is keen to learn and expand their horizons in a technical role focused on Dev/OPS. Responsibilities: · Maintain and rebuild VM base images and templates · Create and maintain automation scripts to build and maintain AWS VPCs / AMI and network resources in the AWS cloud · Automate deployments and configurations Preferred Qualifications: · 2:1 BSc Computer Science or Networking Degree · Microsoft Technology Associate or · CompTIA Optional Certifications that would be an advantage: · Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician · VMWare Certified Associate · AWS Associate · Good knowledge of Microsoft Server and Desktop systems (windows 10, Windows 2016 Server) · Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites or Office 365 · Previous experience in a support or helpdesk highly desirable Personal Skills: · Enthusiastic with excellent problem-solving skills · Showing initiative / self-motivated to get the job done and improve practices · Great interpersonal skills - ability to converse with both internal and external customers · Excellent written and verbal communication · Helpful and friendly, thriving in front of a challenge with a strong desire to succeed If you have the relevant experience or know someone that does please contact us now on or email us at _________________________________________________________________________________ To view all Current Vacancies or for more information on our Refer a Friend scheme, contact one of our consultants or visit our website www.lawesgroup.co.uk
