Empiric has joined forces with a leading automotive organisation as they set to build the next best thing Are you looking to be apart of something huge? In line with their new vehicle launch we are on the hunt for a data architect to join a very diverse team. The Data Architect will take overall responsibility for the development of the data architecture for the company's IT systems. The Data Architect will set out the data architecture principles, provide clear data models and control documents that will enable the implementation of a robust information management framework. This will include establishing an organisational data information framework, introducing appropriate data standards, ensuring good data governance principles are adhered to and ensuring an efficient flow of data between IT systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, PLM, Websites etc.) Build out a big data/data analytics platform in the next 3 months. The incumbent should have experience of systems integration in a cloud environment and take responsibility for various data/information/integration related projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: Define information/data strategy and roadmap. Develop and maintain the data architecture covering business, technology, application and the respective data flows. Establish data standards, principles and practices to provide for effective governance. Accountable for information and data architecture decision-making of standardising information systems and processes. Establish data solution designs and the approach for how data are defined and developed. Define, design, simplify and standardise the technical data architecture landscape. TOM creation, definition and maintenance. Governing the consistent use of data ensuring that integrity is preserved. Focus on the 'big picture' and how all the technical pieces fit together in terms of both the breadth and depth of the specific architecture domain. Drive realisation of the Digital Strategy goals e.g. cloud first. Assist business units in creating a consistent, company-wide reporting framework. Work collaboratively with the various IT teams in order that they receive a fast, accurate and high-quality service. DESIRED EXPERIENCE: At least 3 years' experience working as a data architect. Excellent knowledge of the processes, methods and tools needed to architect data in a large (e.g. over 1,000 people) organisation. Excellent skills in a variety of data modelling techniques and representations. Experience in creating a data architecture function. Understand industry recognised data modelling patterns and standards. Works with business and technology stakeholders from across the School to translate business problems into data designs and to develop and implement data standards. Able to reverse engineer a data model from a live system. Understands data governance and how it works in relation to other organisational governance structures. Familiar with using and writing architecture standards and principles. Worked with individual projects to advise them on data analysis and management. You will be self-motivated, be able to work independently but also as part of a team. A self-starter, pragmatic, flexible and comfortable with ambiguity.
