Overview

Job purpose: To provide an effective and efficient HR service to our clients Consulting and Technology division, supporting the achievement of business objectives and growth through exceptional people practices. Provide support as required to the HR Team to ensure the company fulfills its obligations under employment, health & safety, and compliance legislation. This is a home based role with regular travel in London, Essex, Cambs and East Anglia so the ideal candidate will reside in a location that makes travel across these regions commutable. Duties and responsibilities: Act as the main point of contact for managers, employees and other HR team members Provide generalist HR support to the business, where necessary on disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, maternity/paternity leave and performance management matters. Provide training and coaching to all people managers Address employee requests and potential issues (e.g. grievances) Calculate and report on retention, turnover and internal mobility rates per department Assess and collate results from employee performance reviews Identify top reasons why candidates and employees choose to work with the company and recommend areas of improvement for HR practices Assist in the planning, delivery and monitoring of internal training/learning and development plans to ensure compliance with ESFA and Ofsted requirements Build strong lasting relationship with the business and deliver an exceptional service Review performance / attendance improvement plans Ensure PDR’s and relevant reviews are taking place in line with Company Policy Plan quarterly and annual performance review sessions, supporting managers to ensure effective implementation Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions along with salary records Represent HR at operational meetings including attending regular management committee meetings Review Bradford scores and advise in AIP’s Undertake project work and policy development work as directed and guided by the HR Associate Director Research and keep abreast of developments in employment legislation and case law, and be pro-active in ensuring that the management teams are briefed appropriately To actively promote culture and change initiatives, including delivering information briefings in person and via webinar To pro-actively identify, develop and implement improvements to systems and procedures to enhance service efficiency Provide support where required on recruitment activity, including coaching line managers in interview and selection techniques. All Staff are expected to carry out any reasonable instruction given by their senior manager, in line with business requirements Skills & Experience: The successful candidate will hold a CIPD Intermediate level qualification as a minimum, and must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision on a variety of HR generalist topics. You will be a strong communicator (written and verbal) with excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to demonstrate your ability to forge strong working relationships with employees and managers in the business. The role requires you to work proactively and efficiently with strong attention to detail, with confidentiality and integrity at the forefront at all times. You will have excellent IT skills with working knowledge of MS Office, HRIS & payroll systems, and be confident in training line managers.
