Overview

System Engineer Cheltenham 6 months Key Activities Increase in System Engineering workload to meet PDR then CDR deliverables. In this role, you will be defining architecture and systems for the next generation of Power Electrical products. You will utilise your expertise to complete GE engineering activities across functions and with key stakeholders to meet programme objectives. Through the solutions being developed, you will ensure business expectations are met and that GE products are positioned to win future business. Essential Responsibilities Interfacing with customers, key internal and external stakeholders to determine and provide solutions to their needs, capturing stakeholders' expectations and translating them into Systems requirements. Capturing, understanding, and decomposing the customer's system requirements. Designing power distribution system architectures and products in co-operation with customer and GE teams. Verifying the solutions implemented. Understanding the implications of decisions made to fulfil key targets. Creating and performing systems Providing technical leadership to assigned personnel, as required. Driving completion of systems engineering activities to time, budget, and quality, on assigned programmes. Assuring proper and effective documentation of technical data is generated for the assigned projects and tasks, consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Qualifications / Requirements Experience of embedded systems design lifecycle within aerospace or a similar industry in a customer-facing role, and of hardware and/or software engineering. Experience of RTCA DO-178B/C, DO-254, SAE ARP4754A or similar development standards. Experience of systems design and modelling tools, e.g. DOORS, Matlab Simulink Experience of performing systems tests. Bachelors degree or HND in Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Physics or similar level of knowledge and experience. Desired Characteristics A positive attitude, initiative, enthusiasm and passion for systems engineering and state-of-the-art technology. An understanding of programme and risk management.
