Overview

Our client, a significant player in the higher education sector, requires a Systems Engineer to join their growing team. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, the successful Systems Engineer will design, test and implement technical solutions within the IT engineering team on full-lifecycle changes to both on-site and cloud based platforms. Working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, the Systems Engineer will use their problem-solving skills to translate business requirements and architectural designs into functioning systems that meet business needs. The successful candidate will have the following experience: A demonstrable track record of provisioning and supporting Windows servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, VLANs, firewalls and VPNs. Knowledge of virtualisation technologies Installing server, networking, storage and backup hardware and software. Managing and implementing Azure PaaS and IaaS. Whilst full training to get the right candidate up to speed will be provided, we are particularly interested to hear from people with the following, non-essential experience: IIS (preferably alongside ASP.Net, MVC, C# and PHP) Windows 2012 R2, MS System Centre, SQL Server, Oracle, Azure components, ISO27001, SANs. Azure cloud infrastructure implementation and administration. Hybrid infrastructure configuration and experience migrating on-premise solutions and services into Azure. Relevant professional qualifications e.g. VMware certified, MS certified etc. Powershell Scripting This position will suit a DevOps Engineer or 2nd Line Support looking to develop their career, or a motivated professional with systems engineering experience that wants to move into a business who treat their staff exceptionally well.
