An exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of technological developments in high-value mechatronic systems Our client is a global leader in the manufacturer of optically biased imaging systems; in particular they have an unprecedented reputation for producing gold-standard microscopy solutions used for scientific and materials analysis purposes. The role FMC are currently seeking a Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join a prestigious team based in Cambridge. The role will operate from site that was purpose-build to facilitate the R&D and production of the specific products you will be working on. This is a German engineering organisation focused on manufacturing excellence which is demonstrable from their state-of-the-art facilities and production tools that fosters a world-class lean/continuous improvement environment. The core responsibilities will surround making sure that the mechanical aspects of the manufacturing infrastructure and products are maintained, alongside, supporting new product development projects. This will include supporting the successful introduction of new products into the manufacturing site. Other key areas of focus would include; - Generating design concepts and ideas - Product and manufacturing process testing - Process engineering change - Fault analysis - Use the current system (SolidWorks 2019) to generate 3D Models Aside from the hands-on technical design, this candidate will also take responsibility for documentation, client reporting, liaison with 3rd party companies and supporting purchasing departments when appropriate. The requirements The successful candidate will have proven experience of building world-class quality management functions that are underpinned by robust systems, processes and systems.
