Offering one of the largest data sets in the UK, you'll work with data coming in from various company sources from online to offline, retail to financial. THE ROLE: As a Data Engineer, you can expect to sit within a team of senior data engineers and technical leads, offering next-level mentorship and clear opportunities for career progression. You will work hands on within this team to undertake exciting data transformation and solution development, to drive quality analytics and insights. Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following: Designing, building, and implementing both real-time and batch ETL pipelines, using Apache Spark, Kafka, and SQS Develop new solutions using PySpark to exploit deeper value from data sets Support rapid discovery and prototyping in Scala, Python, and Java Implement cutting-edge cloud technologies including AWS, S3, EMR Opportunities for mentorship of junior data engineers YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE A successful Data Engineer will have the following skills, attributes, and experience. Educated to a degree level in a relevant subject area Detailed knowledge of SQL based ETL pipelines and proven hands on commercial experience Strong Python, Scala programming skills, having utilised these in a commercial environment Commercial experience with Hadoop, Snowflake and AWS Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery methodologies THE BENEFITS The successful applicant will receive a salary - dependent on experience - between £65-£75k.
