Overview
I am urgently recruiting for an enthusiastic Visualisation Engineer / Technical Reporter to join my client's newly established team based in Liverpool on a full-time and permanent basis. This role is at the centre of a period of transformation, helping conceive, create and publicise solutions, whilst seeking out trends, patterns and stories told by the data and clearly communicate them to senior stakeholders through clear visualisations. My client is an entrepreneurial business and is looking for a focussed and committed team member who will help further promote accurate and insightful data across the business. Key Responsibilities include: The key responsibility of a Visualisation Engineer is to help create visualisations that enable all areas of the business to derive data driven actions and insights. This involves working on projects end to end including scoping, requirements, engaging with stakeholders, developing the toolkit and publicising/documenting the tool to the relevant teams and supporting its rollout with training and support. In order to create fast and efficient dashboards, the role will be combining existing tables from a mixture of system-based data warehouses and online portals, to create templated formats that can be shared with stakeholders. The role will be required to be focussed on data quality and strive for accuracy within the data you are presenting, either clarifying data definitions or creating metrics or formula within visualisation tools. The role will also be partly responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing tools created by the team, ensuring that the tools we create continue to meet the business needs and do not become obsolete. As part of a cross-functional team, the role will be engaging with stakeholders in every part of the business including analysts, operations staff, and senior commercial stakeholders. This will include developing relationships, gaining commercial knowledge and giving project updates. Alongside responsibility for the technical elements, the successful candidate will also be the champion of the data and data visualisation across the business. Through training, presenting and showcasing completed projects, you will work to educate and inform the business of the value of data in day to day decision making. Required Skills and Experience include: Working experience as a data analyst or visualisation engineer Strong analytical abilities, with the demonstratable desire to identify insights from qualitative and quantitative data Intermediate knowledge of and experience with SQL Proven expertise in creating advanced data visualisations using visualisation software such as Data Studio, Tableau, PowerBI etc Knowledge of design principles, in particular how to present data effectively Soft skills including stakeholder management, project management, requirement gathering and clear communications skills.
