Overview
Personal Assistant – Care & Support Location: Hemingford Gray, Cambridgeshire Pay rate: £12.50 per hour Hours of work 37.5 per week. Possibility of 2 part time posts. Our client is recruiting a female personal assistant to work along side a 14-year-old young lady who has a range of physical disabilities, which limits her independence. The priority for this role is to facilitate effective communication with the client who is non-verbal. The client is a wheelchair user and is a student in a mainstream school. You will be using multiple ways to help promote successful interactions (training is available and a willingness to learn is essential) With this in mind you will: Empower the client to express her needs and wishes. Work with the client to enable her needs and wishes to be met. Provide a person centered approach to enable the client to undertake activities such as assisting with personal hygiene, toileting, feeding dressing, shopping. Assist with home-based academic projects, to enable the client to work towards her GCSE. Enable the client to access social opportunities and mix with a friendship group. Hours of work to be discussed in more detail at interview, however flexibility will be required. Previous experience of working with young people with a high level of care needs is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. An NVQ level 3 or 4 in Health or Social Care is essential. A degree level education is desirable but not essential. Activities include intimate personal care and therefore a female support worker is required. If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please apply ASAP.
