Overview

Senior ILS Engineer/Supportability In this unique role you will work with a small team to make sure complete support and service solutions are offered to customers in the aftermarket. Working closely with engineering and aftermarket teams you will need to influence both product design and commercial teams to optimise costs and provide support solutions. you will also have an influence with the design teams to turn customers ideas into reality for a company who are at the forefront of aerospace technology. This position will be diverse liaising with cross functional groups of engineers and customers helping them to take ideas from concept all the way through to production. You will then be responsible for putting processes in place for customer returns and making sure all the stock required is available to carry out repairs and maintenance for that product range. The ideal candidate will come from either a manufacturing (MRO) background or aftermarket design and have experience with repair and maintenance. Communication is vital in this role as you will need to be able to understand customers’ queries and then be able to work closely with project and technical teams to help resolve these issues in a timely manner. Other responsibilities will include: Starting with customer requirements (technical and commercial) at the bid stage or early development phases, you will work with the Programme teams to provide all the elements for a successful entry into Service and ongoing support of our new products. Work with other Sales, Marketing and Services (SMS) teams to determine the best support solution for the customer. Influence product designers to take support requirements into account and optimise designs for Whole Life Cost. Requirements: A degree or significant experience in a technical area (aerospace, automotive, rail, production, utilities – other highly regulated industries considered) Experience in one or more of the following areas or similar, relevant experience: ILS, Product or Customer Support in a technical environment, Maintenance, Fleet Management, Plant Management, Asset Management (physical, not financial), Support Engineering, a role involving RAMS activities (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Supportability/Safety), New Product Introduction.
