Overview
Finance Director - Milton Keynes - up to £90,000 This Finance Director role is one of those rare opportunities to step into something which is newly created, where you will put in place your own processes, ways of working and new financial controls. Supporting the Managing Director of a business in Milton Keynes which has seen turnover double year-on-year, you'll play a key role in allowing this organisation to maintain its consistent impressive performance and contribute heavily to the strategic and commercial decision making of the business. You might be someone who has an extensive track record of running the Finance function of a growing SME business, maintaining a strong internal controls function and contributing heavily to the commercial direction of the organisation. Equally, you might be a 2 in Finance who has worked in a similar business, driving growth and best practice alongside an FD or CFO and looking to take that step up into a Head of level position. Key Responsibilities of the Finance Director: Form a close working relationship with the MD and support on all short, medium and long term strategies of the business. Lead the accounting function day-to-day as well as be hands-on with accounting and analysis yourself Supervise and manage all areas of the accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger Prepare financial forecasts, budgets and financial planning on a regular basis and provide details of future performance Implement new financial controls, reporting processes and analysis from scratch Contribute to company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging existing assumptions and drive decisions making as appropriate Meet all statutory accounting requirements and manage cash flow and working capital. You will be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified accountant with a number of years PQE. To succeed in this role you will ideally have previously supported an SME business through a significant period of growth, implemented financial controls and have had major input in the commercial side of the business. You will also have built and developed finance teams, upskilling where necessary and moving from a transactions, manual function to a value-add department. Experience of working in a business which has a strong online presence would be an advantage, with an understanding of e-commerce, online advertising etc. You'll be a clear strategic thinker who can see the long-term bigger picture whilst also being able to get into the nitty-gritty with a strong attention to detail. Based in Milton Keynes in a location that is easily accessible from the surrounding areas including Bedford, Luton, Dunstable, Northampton and beyond.
