Overview
Claims Adjuster (12 Month Maternity Cover Contract) London £50,000 to £60,000 The Role The successful candidate will be based within the London Market Specialty Claims Team. The Specialty Claims Team handles claims arising from the Contingency, Personal Accident, Product Recall and Terrorism books of business. Responsibilities Adjust and manage within authority a portfolio of the above classes of Specialty claims, as well as handling claims outside authority with supervision. Provide excellent service to brokers and insureds, providing quick and effective claim resolution. Manage third party suppliers, such as Lawyers and Adjusters, ensuring they provide excellent service and fair outcomes for all customers. Identify and refer large or contentious claims appropriately, playing a full part in the overall claims function role of risk management and proper reserving. Work effectively with Underwriters i.e. assist broker meetings (renewals) to help develop products and provide feedback on wordings and claims trends. Requirements Demonstrable experience and knowledge of Specialty Claims or similar within a legal or London Market insurance setting. Experience of the US legal system, US insurance law and/or insurance community would be highly beneficial. Good mathematical skills (at least GCSE level or equivalent). A strong and confident communicator, both oral and written.
