Overview

I am currently recruiting for my client who are based near to Chester. There is the need to bring onboard an accounts supervisor to join the team on a fixed term contract basis. The contract will be for c8 months whilst there is an ongoing project in the wider team. The supervisor will be responsible for a team of 4, helping with workload distribution, queries and also getting stuck in with the processing too. The role is made up of 90% purchase and only minimal sales ledger duties, with easy customers to deal with. This position would suit an experienced accounts payable supervisor looking to gain some experience within a really fab local organisation. The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or QBE and have good understanding of Excel - Vlook ups / Pivot tables etc. The Role: Supervising, coaching and mentoring a team of Account Co-ordinators to ensure deadlines are met, processes are carried out accurately and work is prioritised to ensure good customer service both internally and externally. To support the Assistant Management Accountant in the general day to day running of the department. Processing purchase invoices, ensuring prompt and authorised sign off by managers Completing supplier statement reconciliations Completing bank reconciliations, CIS returns and supplier payment runs. Assisting in maximum VAT recovery between Companies and correct intercompany allocations. Assist in the maintenance of the purchase portal for accurate commitment spends Develop processes to improve the control environment. To be first port of call for internal stakeholders for general queries and training on accounts system The successful candidate will: Experience of supervising an accounts office Have previous purchase ledger experience Knowledge and experience of all accountancy functions - bank reconciliations, purchase and sales ledger processing, payment runs, maintaining purchase order system and CIS returns Have good organisational skills and a flexible approach Be computer literate & competent in the use of Microsoft Office Have an eye for detail to accurately record and input data Ability to judge situations and use initiative to resolve issues effectively Hours of work are 40 hours per week from 8:30am to 5:00pm (with a 30 minute lunch break) 5 days per week to be worked between Monday and Friday.
