Overview
Business Intelligence Developer Up to £400 - outside of IR35 Newcastle upon Tyne (remote to begin with) Initial 3 month contract, subject to extension A key client of ours are in the process of evolving their data warehousing strategy, in a bid to bolster capacity, architecture and productivity; to allow for better data usage and access as a result. The department are really into the story behind the data and are looking for the successful candidate to have the same itch and desire to quantifies the why. Key responsibilities: Translate business needs to technical specifications Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools) Maintain and support data analytics platforms Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes) Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting Evaluate and improve existing BI systems Collaborate with teams to integrate systems Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses Create visualizations and reports for requested projects Develop and update technical documentation Required skills: Proven experience as a BI Developer MS SQL (up to 2016) Industry experience is preferred Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps) Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude Desired skills: Azure DevOps Agile SSAS SSIS Microsoft Visio/Draw.io
