Overview
Acorn's specialist Finance Division is searching for a Property Underwriter to join a leading financial services organisation in Cardiff City Centre. Our client is looking to seriously grow their property team and will look to enter new markets in the future. The role boasts a competitive salary between £25,000 - £30,000 with great employee benefits. We're looking for individuals with prior experience in the residential property construction sector. Key Responsibilities: Undertake the property underwriting of new business lending applications in accordance with company procedures liaising with customers, intermediaries, solicitors and valuers as required Review and evaluate cases referred to the Property Team and recommend lending decisions to mandate holders with a view to gaining own lending mandate. Assistance with ad-hoc projects as required by the Senior Property Surveyor, team leader and Underwriting manager. Liaise with brokers to explain the reasons for declined cases or to source additional information or analysis where required. Maintain a close working relationship with the Underwriting Team to ensure that underwriting activity relating to the borrower and the property is aligned. To liaise with Solicitors regarding queries raised from returned local searches within the conveyancing process What we're looking for: Experience of residential property valuations would be desirable Minimum HNC/D in a surveying/building related principle Experience of working in a property building or valuation environment Good understanding of the property market Good IT skills with a demonstrable history of using MS Office applications Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise with different stakeholders
