Overview
Reporting into the Operations Director, this role is a high-profile position within the organisation. It is a great opportunity for the right person to come in & make a significant impact and really shape this role whilst also playing a fundamental part of the future strategy of this business. THE ROLE: Carrier Management of Parcel Carriers, 4PL businesses and Couriers across the UK (predominantly). Responsibility for significant carrier/3PL spend. Agreement of SLA's with carrier/3PL partners with regular performance reviews. Onboarding of new carrier/3PL partners where appropriate. Engagement with high-profile blue-chip B2B customers. This role will be approximately 70% operational & 30% commercial in nature. A role with huge opportunity & autonomy and a boss that will allow you to show what you can do. Devise & support the implementation of new operational strategies across the UK, Europe & beyond. Data analysis - utilising Excel and other systems in order to look at trends, forecasting and providing operational reports where appropriate. THE PERSON: Able to engage with internal & external stakeholders across the UK & beyond. Analytical nature - able to understand complex problems and come up with bespoke solutions. Carrier Management or 4PL Management experience is extremely advantageous. Demonstrable Carrier/4PL/Sub-contraction P&L responsibility. Strong IT systems skills - including Excel (need to be comfortable with VLookUps, Pivot Tables & Formulas) Able to take ownership and drive for operational excellence. Strong commercial acumen. Able to think beyond the obvious. Keen to leave an impact on this business and grow with it.
