Overview
A growing business based in the North East is seeking to appoint a Head of Legal to establish an in-house legal offering. The organisation is looking for a go-getting and commercially focused lawyer to work closely with the management team, providing strategic advice and ensuring a robust approach to governance and compliance. About the Role In joining the business as Head of Legal, you will enjoy a wide-ranging role, establishing the in-house legal offering which will include: General contract management Drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements Providing general advice on additional areas such as regulatory, procurement, employment, corporate and litigation You will also manage the relationship with external counsel, especially in relation to acquisitions. The Candidate To be considered for this Head of Legal role, you will require: 6 years’ PQE as a Solicitor A background in commercial contracts or corporate law A proven track record in giving clear commercial legal advice A private practice or in-house background Experience advising development and manufacturing businesses (desirable but not essential) Strong communication skills A commercially aware, solutions focused approach Strong influencing skills and be able to promote recommendations to all levels of the business What’s on Offer? For this Head of Legal opportunity, there is a salary of £70,000 - £100,000 per annum on offer, as well as a wide range of benefits including a bonus.
