Government Employment Lawyer Contract - Full-time £25-35ph London About the Role: A fantastic opportunity for Employment Lawyers to join a busy Central Government team in London on a rolling contract with a minimum of 11 months. The team are looking for qualified Lawyers (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent) to conduct litigation on an in house basis on behalf of a number of Government departments. The role offers a diverse and busy caseload and flexible working. The successful candidate will come from an Employment Law background and have experience in litigation and employment tribunals. It would also be beneficial to have public sector experience, however, this is not essential. Key Requirements The ideal candidate for this Employment Lawyer role: A fully qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent) Preferable working experience in Public Law and the public sector Solid knowledge of and practice in Employment law and related concepts Litigation background with considerable autonomy Tribunal experience Key responsibilities Requirements of the successful candidate for this Employment Lawyer: Employment based proceedings in courts, appeals, tribunals Advice in matters relating to Employment Law Advice in matters relating to access to information and data protection Conducting settlement negotiations with opposing representatives Interviewing witnesses and recording witness statements On Offer 11 month contract with likely extension £25-35 per hour Central Government role Central London location We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing.
