Come and join us Due to the current Covid-19 crisis South West London & St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust are looking to quickly band RMN staff to be of support to front line ward staff. With the pressures of the Covid-19 and isolation periods additional support is required to ensure the service users needs are well cared for. This is an excellent opportunity to come and work and gain experience in some of our different services at the Trust. We have various opportunities in different services such as; Acute Care Pathway CAMHS Forensic, Specialist and National Community Cognition and Mental Health in Ageing We also have opportunities across different parts of South London including our sites at Springfield Hospital in Tooting, Queen Marys in Roehampton and Tolworth Hospital. You can join our vital bank services supporting our front line staff provide essential care to our patients. Once you are working within our bank services there will be opportunities to move to permanent roles should you wish. About the role: Some of your main duties may include: You will provide excellent care for our services users and patients You will be responsible for assessment of care need and the development implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. You will implement and demonstrate clinical excellence You will instigate, supervise and monitor nursing practice You will deliver care that is reflective of current best practices and research You will have active participation in and initiate the developments and innovations within the service. You will demonstrate the ability to work within the Knowledge Skills Framework (KSF), supported and facilitated by regular Management and Clinical Supervision. You will participate in nursing research and disseminate the knowledge and results from such research to colleagues managers Helping to support service users and staff. To work with service users to support their recovery. For example, talking with service users, providing emotional support, helping them to stay connected with family and friends, supporting them to ensure their comfort on the ward, organising activities on the wards amongst other things. To work with staff on the ward to help the smooth running of the ward which could include helping to ensure service users keep up with their hydration, supporting the ward with hygiene control, running activities on the ward, helping with delivering/serving/preparing food amongst other things. In addition: Applicants should follow the principles of ‘recovery’: encouraging and supporting service users to engage in healthy lifestyles, facilitating activities and other activities of their interest. The applicant may be expected to work shift patterns or shifts of 7.5 hours. The applicant may be required to work across different wards and different sites across the trust. The applicant would be expected to undertake 1-1 engagement with service users in an honest, open and non- judgmental way. Applicants would be expected to follow the Trust’s policies and procedures.
