Job Description
About the Role and Service You will develop wide-ranging clinical skills and experiences in a unique environment through this flexible short-term post. You will join a small, welcoming team providing round the clock care and support, and develop and deploy clinical skills including: * Bespoke care planning * Clinical assessment * Ongoing diagnosis and planning interventions and treatments * Managing challenging behaviours * Patient and family engagement * Psychological interventions, medication, restraint * Nurse-led clinical solutions as part of an MDT with the ward psychiatrist and others Experience in Forensic, PICU, complex care, MSUs and supporting patients with multiple conditions including challenging behaviours is desirable. You will be resilient with excellent communications and teamworking skills. You will be committed to making a difference to vulnerable and challenging young adults. You will join an experienced, expert multi-disciplinary team, delivering this highly specialist service, led by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. We work in partnership with Oxleas Foundation Trust and South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust through the successful South London Mental Health and Community Partnership (SLP) Forensic New Care Models Programme. About the Location Lambeth Hospital is situated between Clapham and Brixton, it is a vibrant area with excellent transport links. Benefits : 'Golden Hello Bonus' for Registered Mental Health Nurses (Band 5 and Band 6) Staff Only A bonus payment of 1,000 will be made to you with your first salary. In addition, if you remain in the service for a further 12 and 18 months, you will receive additional payments of 500 at these points. This means, providing you remain in the Croydon Directorate service for 18 months, you will receive a bonus of 2,000 in total (if you leave the service anytime during the first 24 month period a staged repayment scheme will be implemented). This payment is taxable and non-pensionable and subject to you having an acceptable conduct, performance and absence record.
