Summary This is an exciting time for HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) as we continue to implement our ambitious plans to transform our IT and digital Services. Mobility and Workplace Services is a Delivery Group within Chief Digital Information Officer Group (CDIO) and is the area responsible for the continued provision of the right tools and IT environment for our people. We help develop a flexible working culture and workforce with the skills and capability to do their job. Job description This is a lead role within the Architecture team which has accountability for technology strategy and roadmap within the Mobility and Workplace Services domain. That domain includes: User devices (PCs, tablets, printers, mobile phones and audio visual equipment) Directory services Office 365 IT Service Desk Automated administration services Assistive technology and supporting infrastructure Key Responsibilities Creation of high level solution and service designs, underpinning our IT architecture, and supporting HMRC’s IT strategy Providing technical governance for new or updated solutions utilising the existing Group platforms, the introduction of new services or removal of end of life services Deliver technical consultancy throughout the service life cycle from project to service delivery Requirements management working with HMRC business areas to ensure requirements are fed into the technology roadmaps Essential Criteria You will need to demonstrate within your application the following: A broad IT and Infrastructure background, preferably in solutions or enterprise architecture roles working within the user device management or desktop domain A focused approach on strategic alignment of technical design and architecture to meet business growth and direction Proven experience of providing internal consultancy on potential uses and appropriateness of infrastructure technologies and driving benefits from these technologies A breadth of understanding of large scale infrastructure technologies including but not limited to: End User Device Configuration; Software Delivery; Hybrid Cloud Computing; Infrastructure Security Controls; Device Management Processes and Tools The ability to work under broad direction in challenging and unpredictable environments, playing a key role in influencing strategic decision making and understand strategic consequences of IT decisions Desirable Experience Modern cloud based device management tools and technologies such as Intune, Windows Autopilot, cloud hosted virtualised devices, or similar technologies Hybrid Cloud Migration In room audio/visual conferencing and/or Intelligent Building IT integration Azure, O365 or AWS experience/certification Working to or already have professional IT qualifications such as TOGAF, BCS or CITP Benefits Learning and development tailored to your role An environment with flexible working options A culture encouraging inclusion and diversity A Civil Service pension Equal Opportunities We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status or disability status.
