Job Description

Due to expansion, one of our clients is now looking to recruit an Apprenticeship Assessor (or ideally IQA) to deliver courses such as Warehousing and Storage, PMO, Team Leading and Management. They are looking for an experienced, fully qualified assessor with a demonstrable background in delivering relevant Apprenticeships. Experience of Internal Verification / Internal Quality Assurance will be a distinct advantage but not essential. This is a full time position - 36.5hrs per week - with immediate start available. The successful candidate will have an assessor caseload of learners based within Telford and the Midlands as well as ideally carrying out Internal Verification for other Assessors. Assessor Job Description Visiting learners in the workplace and assessing them as part of their NVQ qualifications to ensure the successful outcome for the NVQ in line with contractual requirements and targets. Prepare, agree and review assessment plans with each candidate. Create learner portfolios to agreed target standards and ensure they are submitted on time. Visit candidates at least once per month within the workplace to provide support, prepare action plans, undertake assessments and provide feedback on performance. Efficient and effective operation of the assessment process in line with company policy relating to quality and the requirements of the awarding body representatives Carry out progress reviews every 10 - 12 weeks with apprentices ensuring all parties involvement (Assessor, Learner and Employer) Manage and maintain learner folders in line with audit requirements. Assist with development of the provision to ensure the programme is up to date Liaise with the learner and employer to ensure that the learners' needs are met throughout the programme Promote apprenticeships and other courses to employers including encouragement of progression routes. Maintain knowledge of funding streams and eligibility criteria. Undertake Health and Safety checks for learners on programme. Ensure the full embedding of all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirements (including Safeguarding, British Values and Prevent) are complied with and all candidates are given fair access to training and assessment of these. To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students with whom you come into contact. Promote Prevent Strategy and British Values to all students and employers. Maintain annual record of CPD, minimum 30 hours (pro rata). Participate in and support the annual self assessment process (SAR). Attend and participate in meetings with Company Directors, as required. Represent the company at relevant events and generally supporting the marketing strategy. Additional duties appropriate to the post as directed by Company Directors. IQA Job Description To verify assessment decisions and to manage the quality of NVQ delivery, ensuring national standards are maintained and assessment needs of candidates are being met. To identify and address learning and development needs of Assessors. To follow verification sampling strategy to include: Formative sampling Summative sampling IQA - including Employer & Learner interviews and Assessor observations To monitor assessment practice and maintain standardisation of assessment judgement, ensuring assessors make valid decisions and candidates are assessed fairly. Maintain centre files and up to date records relating to Assessors and Internal verification carried out. Ensure the full embedding of all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirement (including Safe Learner Concept) are complied with and all candidates are given fair access to assessment.
