Overview

The now 6x Consecutive Formula 1 World Champions’ are seeking a Senior IT Engineer to act as one of their senior engineers, delivering reliable IT services to the wider business. The primary purpose of the role is to: The purpose of the role is to focus on and improve reliability and availability across the IT application and infrastructure landscape, deliver new technologies that support, enable and enhance our mission to win F1 World Championships, lead by example as a senior technical escalation point for a broad range of IT support topics and deliver exceptional customer service and technical excellence, in a flexible way, particularly as we require support out of hours for maintenance changes and technical support (on a rota basis). To be right for my client, you'll have a strong, current and broad ranging technical background that means you can both step back and see the big picture, and get involved in a hands on way. Knowledge, skills and experience required: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior operational support role (3rd line or equivalent) within a fast paced medium to large sized enterprise, including support of the following: Essential To maintain and secure all IT systems including (HPC, Databases, CAD, Enterprise Infrastructure). Support and optimization of a broad range of in-house and bespoke applications To recognise new technology, innovate current systems and implement new solutions. Champion learning and development, for self and the team. Open source technologies - Linux/Unix, DevOps, Clustering, Automation, CI/CD within a production environment. Client and server Operating Systems Server and Desktop Virtualization; VMware Security, encryption and Data Loss Prevention Vulnerability and malware threat prevention Infrastructure and application capacity, performance and availability monitoring Clustering and High Availability Backups and Disaster Recovery Datacentre Infrastructure Database support - SQL and DB2 to run SQL scripts Strong & proven stakeholder management Beneficial Skills Experience within an Engineering focused role or company Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Manufacturing experience - LTA, Abaqus, High Performance Computing (HPC), Simulation Software Strong experience working to ITIL practices Proven Continual Service Improvement experience A good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Project lead and delivery experience working to a recognised methodology (i.e. PRINCE2, Agile) Benefits Excellent Company Bonus Schemes Mercedes Lease Car Scheme Pension 10% Matched Private Healthcare & Optional Health Checks Subsidised Restaurant Subsidised Gym Team Clothing 25 Days Holiday Life Assurance
