The Opportunity: As the Senior Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for establishing a focused team that will lead the management and attestation of all aspects of data governance, including ownership, quality and MDM. This will support QBE EO achieving Solvency II compliance and the establishment of best practice across the business. To achieve this goal the Senior Data Governance Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective partnering of the various teams across QBE EO that are involved in and support the day-to-day data quality activities and governance processes. Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership and direction to the QBE governance of data through the development of fit-for-purpose reporting to the Operations Management Group, the MI & Data Steering Committee and the QMS UK Board Data Governance Framework - accountable for the design of the data governance framework including the definition of key roles such as Data Owner, Steward and Champion Responsible for embedding the data governance roles across the organisation and establishing clear accountability and roles and responsibility for key teams involved in data management, including IT, Claims, Underwriting, Finance & Operations Ensure compliance with all the data related areas of Solvency II and further Lloyd’s regulatory requirements as become relevant to QBE EO. Data Policy - owner of the Policy, ensuring adherence to the standards, processes and policies contained within the document, and alignment to Group Policy Projects - ensure projects deliver in line with the Data Strategy specifically regarding data governance Lead, motivate and manage a small team to ensure data governance compliance, promote individual accountability through an ongoing performance management approach that aligns personal performance objectives with strategic goals Drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement, motivation, collaboration, empowerment and buy-in across the business and central functions Where necessary coach members of the team to ensure consistency delivery of data governance management You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience: Significant experience in the management of data governance including data ownership, quality and MDM, and the techniques used to support this Proven experience in meeting Solvency II data quality criteria Strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills. Confident and credible individual capable of bringing thought leadership to the management of data quality governance People management experience Excellent Problem solving and negotiation skills Strong technical data and analytics skills Working knowledge of insurance/reinsurance desirable At QBE, we view our people as our most precious asset.
