Mechanical Design Engineer 3D CAD design, Solidworks, Solid Edge, 3D printing My rapidly growing SME client is now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D team working out of their Oxfordshire countryside offices in the Witney area. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be joining a multidisciplinary team of bright, enthusiastic engineers tackling problems across optical, mechanical, electronic and software engineering with access to a fully equipped development lab. The ideal Mechanical Design Engineer will be Degree qualified in a related subject, be able to illustrate industry experience in a similar role and have strong experience with 3D CAD design ideally using Solidworks or Solid Edge. Whilst any experience with 3D printing processes, opto-mechanical components is desirable as is an experience within the aerospace, defence, laser systems or telecomms sectors. The primary role of the successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be to lead mechanical design work packages in support of development projects and to be instrumental in developing future technologies. You should expect the role to involve: Support and lead the mechanical design elements of projects from small fibreoptic component packaging too large, industrial scale mechanical structures Deliver technically challenging projects on time and to budget and in line with company processes Deliver designs through the development and build lifecycle Produce detail drawings including material choice for manufacture Support the commercial proposal process for new projects Design and deliver finished products as well as internal development rigs and setups Lead the design review process for projects Design and develop products in line with company procedures Support the mechanical building of prototype products In return my client is offering a strong starting salary and benefits package including: bonus, pension, private healthcare, life assurance, 25 days holiday and more so apply today for immediate consideration.
