Client and Partnership Director of Technology

Overview

A new team has been set up at Hearst with the ambition of developing deep relationships with clients in key categories. Our team are focused on working with clients to deliver best-in-market commercial solutions powered by insight, originality and brilliant service. We are looking for a client facing Director with deep expertise in the technology and entertainment sectors, to implement and deliver a strategy to grow revenues across the breadth of our brand portfolio, but with a particular focus on Digital Spy. Key Responsibilities Sales Implement a strategy and deliver a plan to grow total revenue from the category Develop senior partnership relationships with the biggest potential contributors Become a respected thought leader and facilitate through leading industry events Work with the research and insight team to build a robust story and regular sector insight to keep Hearst front of mind consistently Understand the key challenges in the technology sector and of each client and match this to services that Hearst can provide Extract incremental briefs from the client base through regular face to face meetings Facilitate regular immersion sessions for key target clients drawing on resource from across the business Proactively pitch sponsorships, events, creative partnership ideas and traditional media opportunities across the Hearst portfolio Work in tandem with agency sales teams, create partnerships teams and draw on knowledge from other client categories Grow Hearst share and maximise revenues from priority brands Build individual category / client strategies to increase revenues across Hearst brands and platforms Create and build highly targeted and inspiring sales presentation documents Continue to maintain and populate a robust client database that can be used for sales material and general Hearst marketing via Salesforce Be aware of new advertising innovations and solutions that should be included in proactive pitches and creative conversations Attend key industry events and conferences Read and use trade publications and websites for leads. Stakeholder relationships Develop strong relationships and a free-flowing communications channel with Editors and editorial department heads and any other category experts that can help you develop fresh and unique partnership proposals Be collaborative across all areas of the business Keep your agency sales colleagues up to speed with all connections you are making and be aware of any existing relationships or activities with the client to ensure you are developing proposals that fit within the wider framework of the business via salesforce logging and open dialogue Work within expected profit margins and adhere to business rules About You Demonstrable experience in a the world of technology and entertainment A strong commercial background CMO level client contacts within the relevant category Substantial experience working with clients directly in media Experience of generating new business opportunities and unlocking exclusive briefs Proven track record of revenue growth Strong communicator internally and externally Ability to create and deliver strong story telling presentation documents Demonstrable cross platform sales experience A confident media thinker and collaborative team player Passionate about our brands.
