Overview
Farm Secretary – Salary/Fees dependent on experience/capabilities - Whissonsett, Norfolk – Part Time, Permanent Stangroom Bros Ltd is a family-run farming business which was formed in 1870. Over the years we have expanded to farm large acreages of combinable crops, blackcurrants and herbs. We are currently looking for an organised and proactive individual to join our team in Whissonsett to provide administrative duties. The Role: This exciting and varied Farm Secretary role will involve the following duties: computerised accounts, food safety records and management, and auditing for our arable/herbs/fruit farm. Hours are flexible but will be around 16-20 hours per week, on an employed or self-employed basis. Role responsibilities of the Farm Secretary: Checking purchase invoices with delivery notes, and investigate any discrepancies Entering purchase invoices into accounts system and paying, raising sales invoices Recording sales/deliveries of batch numbers Monitoring/chasing debtors and credit notes VAT Recording and submitting Irrigation records Ensuring insurance renewals/amendments are completed Submitting PV and RHI meter readings quarterly Monitoring training needed for staff and arranging as necessary Monitoring and updating Cashflow Maintaining Farm Assurance Records including: arranging Irrigation water testing and annual testing/calibration of metal detector and scales Checking lab tests’ results and recording on Positive Release spreadsheet Requirements for the Farm Secretary: You will: be a highly organised individual with good attention to detail be assertive and proactive be well motivated and efficient have a good sense of humour be a team player with the ability to work independently have an eye for systems/tasks objectives and improvements as necessary preferably be experienced with Key Accounts be proficient with Excel and Word be ready for a challenge - Training will be available preferably have an agricultural background, but not essentially
