Right now, we’re looking for an experienced Head of Quality to join us in Northampton. Reporting to the VP Production, this is a leadership position covering quality and food safety to ensure that all Carlsberg Quality systems standards and methods, tools and process are implemented in accordance with regional and global agreements. You will perform Quality trainings and provide constant coaching to functional leaders and their teams, primarily focused on consistently delivering finished product, meeting all Carlsberg standards and specifications. The successful applicant will also be responsible for the end-to-end oversight from suppliers and incoming materials, to transportation and distribution of finished products to customers. Key Responsibilities: • People Management (responsible for a team of 13), Process Management, Performance Management, Functional Specific Management, Stakeholder Management • Active participant in the UK site leadership team and regional (Western Europe) quality network • Overseeing the Quality testing and release for all required chemical, microbiological and sensory analysis for starting materials, in process and finished products • Ensure finish products meet all Carlsberg standards and specifications • Supporting the legal agenda for food safety and pack labelling • Stop work in any particular area due to quality issues – risk for food safety (Stop work authority) • Primary contact for all external audits and assessments conducted at site(s) including ISO, food safety and other country required compliance assessments • Primary contact for external authorities (Environmental Health and Trading Standards) • Responsible for setting Quality KPI s at their respective site in line with Country, Region and Group targets (make proposal to be agreed by CSC) alongside collection and reporting of metrics • Responsible for monitoring and investigating (as needed) quality related including issues on all traded items and consumer/customer complaints • Initiates local Quality performance reviews, identify trends, initiates and participates in problem solving activities • Setting and managing Quality department financial budget (OPEX) • Supporting and advising Functional Heads in Quality improvement projects (related to OPEX and CAPEX) • Supporting the Health and Safety of the team and the wider UK team through risk assessment and specific Health and Safety KPIs • Conduct field observations, inspections, coaching and guidance, 20% of time minimum in the field • Advises and is a member of the local Crisis Management Team or/and Emergency Response Team in case of critical or serious Quality incident and designated Crisis Co- ordinator with accountability for Group KPIs • Participant in the company GEMBA Kaizen Knowledge/Skills/Experience: • Extensive Quality or P roduction experience, preferably in FMCG or Food/Beverage industry • Evidence of strong leadership skills and management experience • Proactively aligns self and team towards the agreed priorities • Actively promotes ''one - team'' spirit and collaboration across functions • Detects and encourages talent and coaches towards for company targets • Considers details and big picture when solving problems • Sets clear and stretch objectives and rigorously tracks their delivery • Personally ensures the team has capability to deliver • Plans affectively, sets priorities and puts ideas into practice • Seizes opportunities, embraces and drives change • Seeks, shares and utilizes best practices Success here is all about having the vision, drive and tenacity to make things happen.
