Tradewind Social Care are looking for a Qualified Senior social worker/AMHP to work in a demanding yet rewarding Mental Health team based in London. Description: The candidate is to assist in the management of a multi-disciplinary community mental health team for older people. The candidate is also expected to contribute to the development of service provision, to carry a small caseload and to maintain their warrant and perform the duties of an approved mental health professional (AMHP). Main Duties: The candidate must make sure that all mental health social workers and AMHPS (if appropriate) receive appropriate professional advice, direction and supervision to enable the maintenance of professional and safe practise - either directly or indirectly. The candidate is expected to participate in multi disciplinary assessments and to undertake care management, care co-coordinator and service provider functions where appropriate. To work fairly and consistently with staff in implementing the council's employment procedures such as recruitment and selection, fair treatment, disciplinary and absence management policies. To assist in the production and implementation of the service plan, business plan and unit equality plan. To contribute to new service developments and contribute information to the relevant planning and review systems, having particular regard to discrimination against groups. The candidate is to ensure the provision of a social work service as agreed in care plans and in accordance with department to promote a quality service for customers. The candidate is expected to incorporate the council's equal opportunities policies in all areas of work, with particular reference to discriminated against groups including black people and those from other minority groups, women, older people, people with disabilities, lesbians and gay men. Job Requirements: The candidate is expected to have a enhanced DBS that is of a satisfactory level. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW. Ability to deliver good quality assessments of people with mental health needs. Ability to organise own workload, to work effectively under pressure and to demonstrate good liaison and good recording skills. Approved Social Worker or willing to undertake appropriate AHMP training. If already an approved mental health professional, to ensure that the role, function and responsibilities of an AMHP are carried out by AMHP members of the team in line with best practise and to ensure that non AMHP staff meet professional social work standards in their work with clients.
