Overview
A leading organisation has developed two new positions for a Senior Buyer / Buyer to work with an existing team of procurement professionals. You will work with a specialist product area, with like-minded professional people who pride themselves on delivering value-added service to its stakeholders. Chester based. The Buyer / Senior Buyer role is a highly analytical post that requires you to review the portfolio, understand its stakeholder groups and develop project procurement plans that seek to drive innovation. Duties & Responsibilities: - Responsible for product/commodity strategy. - Proactive approach to supplier management, process control and day-to-day stakeholder management under collaborative programme delivery. - Proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with vendor partners at all levels to ensure Procurement is a trusted advisor. - Build outcomes in the product categories to achieve VFM & product improvements, inclusive of innovation and cost reduction. - Lead the tendering process to contract award. Key skills and experience in this role will include: - Structured thinking and planning. - Computer application proficiency - MS Word, Excel and Project. - Understand tendering process. - Financial knowledge - understand profit and loss statement, management accounts, margin, management and business plans. - Understand how to build effective relationships with key stakeholders, without compromising impartiality or compliance. - Encourage openness and challenge to the status quo. - Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, sales and marketing. - MCIPS or equivalent or working towards. - Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
