Overview
The successful Production Team Lead will support the safe and efficient running of the site, liaising with Engineering, Logistics and Quality primarily. This role is a permanent 'early' shift role working Mon-Fri 6am-2pm. Client Details The client are based in the Newcastle upon Tyne area accessible from Sunderland, North Tyneside, Durham and surrounding areas. The business is performing well and has ambitious growth plans leading in to 2021, this opportunity has a promising future. Description The primary goal is to oversee the early shift operation, proving leadership and focus to ensure production targets, business goals and KPIs are met. The Production Team Lead will stand as the first line of management for their shift and will support in early management responsibilities but benefits from a hands on Plant Manager that runs the site. Ensure that the team follow safety rules policies, procedures and work in a safe manner, carrying out TPM as required. Work is produced to the correct standard - the Production Team Leader is responsible for paperwork and makes decisions on Quality. Regarding Quality this person supports site management on visits and audits BRC, BSI etc. Monitor output, waste, timelines, demand planning etc. Work with drivers and logistics to improve and manage relationship and delivery efficiencies. Shift handover and complete an end of shift report (output, performance issues and quality problems). Identify and run project teams to make process improvements on Waste/efficiencies/bottleneck management. Manage individual's performance and effectiveness - Carry out appraisals / one to ones. Support teams and develop individuals. Identify training and skills requirements Profile The role of Production Team Lead is equally suited to someone who has gained early leadership experience and looking to develop their career or someone who is a seasoned supervisor who has the knowledge and experience to grow people and teams around them. Recognised leadership/management qualification - NVQ 2/3 in leadership Ambitious and committed to site improvement, CI and positive change Ability to motivate a workforce Approachable and personable to make multi-discipline collective improvements Relevant engineering industry experience Physically fit due to the nature and size of materials Job Offer Production Team Lead based in the Newcastle upon Tyne area Salary DOE Permanent early shift post - Mon-Fri 6am-2am
