Overview
New Factory As part of a major international automotive group, this organisation are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the introduction of a significant new investment in capital machinery and automation. Your role will be to oversee and lead improvement activity for the manufacturing operations within a KPI driven, high volume manufacturing environment which is a leader in its field. Production Process Engineer Salary: to £45,000 benefits Location: Sunderland Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the role of Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the industrialisation and continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. Actively present on the shop floor, you will provide technical support on all production process related issues. This includes: o Implement process improvement strategies across robotic/ automation lines, tooling, jigs and fixtures, quality / data analysis, OEE and optimisation of machine controls and production flow. o Responsible for NPI Activity, SOP, PFMEA, PPAP o Continuous improvement activities o Poke yoke (error proofing) o Line balancing & Value Stream Mapping o Engineering and associated process change management o Your focus will be on a key manufacturing processes including automated assembly, bonding & validation Knowledge and Education: You will already have a proven track record working in a similar Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineering role within a high volume automotive manufacturing facility with some of the following attributes: o Apprentice / HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject o High volume data driven manufacturing environment and will be involved in process related change from cradle to the grave o Experience of complex assembly processes involving high degree of robotic automation, material handling, error proofing and testing, dimensional measurement and product validation o In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing/ Continuous Improvement methodologies and how to apply them in practice – Six Sigma Green Belt would be advantageous o Confident hands-on approach, problem solving, poke yoke solutions and route cause analysis. o SOP, APAP and PFMEA creation The opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer, Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer to be part of an established global company who are currently undergoing a period of significant investment in the facility.
