Title: Data Engineer Location: London Salary: Competitve Our client is headquartered in London & with multiple offices globally, they allow businesses that trade internationally. They are looking to continue to drive innovation through technology, giving businesses with the tools they need to manage their said trade and support their growth, including import lending, currency risk management, and payment and collection facilities. ABOUT THE ROLE: As an Data Engineer within the Data Team, you will develop solutions that enable investment professionals to efficiently extract insights from data. RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: Work with data analysts and business stakeholders to determine requirements and build reliable data models Extract, Load and Transform a variety of internal and external data sources Build the semantic layers to support business dashboards and scheduled reporting Collaborating with colleagues to ensure that the structure of our analytics projects is scalable and maintainable QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience 3 years' experience as a database/ETL/BI developer Technically proficient in Python, Java or C++ Deep understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework Willingness to learn new software and technologies Financial Services industry experience preferred but not necessary Experience with Google Cloud Platform (specially BigQuery), AirFlow, dbt are all desirable This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89843575
