Overview

A pioneering consumer payments services company is looking for a junior Regulatory Lawyer to join its legal and compliance team as Legal Counsel. Based in London, the In-House Counsel will be offered a full-time, permanent position. This is a unique opportunity for a junior Lawyer with a commercial background to move into regulatory work in the payments sector and do interesting work as Legal Counsel for an entrepreneurial fintech company. The Role As the Legal Counsel, you will be working closely with the Head of Compliance to make sure that the company is up to date with legal standards and in-house policies. You will also be involved in more commercial and regulatory matters alongside the General Counsel. Key responsibilities will include: Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent and adequately deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies Evaluating the efficiency of controls and working to continually improve them Drafting, modifying and implementing company policies and procedures Liaising and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to oversee the enforcement of regulations and standards Advising on data security matters and critical outsourcings contracts from a legal perspective Keeping abreast of regulatory developments that could impact the business Requirements To be considered for this In-House Counsel role, you will have: Qualified as a solicitor in a top City law firm and have 1-5 years PQE Experience advising on a broad range of consumer credit regulations, drafting and reviewing policies, negotiating commercial contracts and advising the business on new strategic initiatives and products A can-do attitude and a genuine desire to be part of an exciting and innovative company In-House experience (desirable but not necessary) Apply Now If you are seeking a regulatory and compliance focused Legal Counsel opportunity in London, we want to hear from you.
