Overview

Availability, Capacity and Continuity Manager Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire Summary of Role Raytheon UK is looking for a dynamic, experienced and individual who undertake the role of Availability, Capacity and Continuity Manager (ACCM). This role requires a versatile individual who can make effective and highly valued contributions to activities across the project lifecycle in the Geospatial Intelligence and deployed IT environments. The candidate is expected to be capable of operating in a senior role working closely with customer and delivery teams alone and unsupervised if necessary. Working within the Service Operations team, but liaising with the Service Design team you will be reporting to the Head of Service Design (HoSD). The successful applicant will be capable of aligning the business strategy and plans with technology and solutions that support the strategy. The ACCM needs to be able to talk to both technical experts and stakeholders, applying a holistic approach to ensure that created solutions will help the Organisation achieve its goals and maintain its Services. The candidate must be a team player who is prepared to lead from the front and work with a multi-national engineering team and the customer community. There will be an expectation that travel between Customer sites will be required for this role. Main Duties Produce and maintain an appropriate and up to date Availability, Capacity and Continuity (ACC) Plan, that reflects the current and future needs of the business. Provide advice and guidance to all other areas on availability related issues. Produce ACC metrics report for the Service Management Review each month. Assist with diagnosis and resolution of availability related incidents and problems. Assess the impact of all changes on the Availability, Capacity and Continuity Plan. Ensure that proactive measures are recommended to improve the availability of services wherever it is cost justifiable. Monitor actual IT availability achieved. Maintain and enforce the availability testing schedule. Attend all CAB meetings. Help create solutions that balance business requirements with information, user and security requirements that are capable of being effectively managed in service. Engage with relevant stakeholders to provide understanding of the planned solution and identify possible impact on Service. To help the Business evaluate existing systems and provide advice on how to meet organizational requirements and future needs. Identification of Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies related to Projects and their impact upon ongoing Service Model and/or processes. Good communication skills with diverse audiences - strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Ensure that the system design balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements. Provide advice and guidance to all other areas of the business and IT on all capacity and performance related issues. Ensure the Availability, Capacity and Continuity Plan is in alignment of Overall Business Continuity Plan (BCP) of the organization. Ensure regular Business Impact Analysis (BIA) happens so that all continuity plans remain in line with changing business needs. Candidate Requirements Essential Service Design/Architecture experience. Service Implementation background. You will be capable of bringing a "big picture" perspective to the adoption of new ideas. Experienced in assessing a broad range of IT solutions and products. Assist with the diagnosis and resolution of performance and related incidents and problems. Experienced in sizing new services & systems (per future requirements). Experienced at aligning capacity & demand correctly as per the business needs. Previous experience of managing availability, capacity and continuity of Service for an MoD or Government customer at various Classifications. Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences, with experience of working with board level stakeholders. Self-starter with the ability to appropriately prioritise and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment. Results oriented with ability to review solutions to ensure that they deliver against the stated Service Model. Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude. Team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of the Service. Current SC clearance. willing and able to obtain the highest level of UK Security Clearances and not dual nationality. Desirable Knowledge of MoD Implementation requirements (JSP604/480). Experience of implementing security aspects and solutions - JSP440. Ability to manage and control the expectations of a diverse set of stakeholders. Expert Knowledge of ITIL v3 or v4.
