Overview
We have the perfect employment opportunity if you are a qualified Care Assistant looking for a permanent contract or just want some extra shifts on the relief bank. Our Stoke Gifford Village in Bristol currently has fantastic opportunities available for dedicated individuals to deliver care to our resident under one roof (no travel required), working shifts on a rota basis. As a Care Assistant, it is desirable that you hold a Level 2 in Health & Social Care alongside experience in a similar role. It is equally important that you can demonstrate the right behaviours and attitude for working in an adult social care environment. In return you will receive a competitive salary plus excellent benefits package which includes: Pension Employee Assistance Programme BUPA and Health Sure cash plan 33 days including bank holidays (pro rata / FTE) £500 Golden Hello to new care staff (criteria applicable) Flexible day/night shifts/evening/weekends Free compliance inclusive of training, DBSs and occupational health screening Career development pathways and formal training opportunities A full induction programme will be provided, alongside formal training opportunities Care Assistant Responsibilities: Provide all aspects of personal care to residents Promoting and support the physical, emotional and wellbeing of residents Encourage independence and self-belief Provide a personalised housing related to support service Supporting residents at meal times, in accordance with their individual needs Ensure the environment is maintained to a high standard including shared areas Contribute fully to team working, responding positively to colleagues and undertaking all reasonable work instructions promptly Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks and in particular moving and handling of Understand personal responsibilities with regard to Health and Safety at Work legislation, particularly in relation to moving and handling of residents and fire safety and evacuation procedures Take an active interest in your personal and professional development by, contributing to supervision and appraisal meetings, attending team meetings and training Adhere to all company and local policies/procedures Develop positive professional relationships with residents, visitors and colleagues Job Requirements: Rights to work in the UK Minimum of 6 months working with older people NVQ Level 2 or QCF Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (preferred) Relevant experience gained in a similar role Enthusiastic with a can do attitude to make a difference Personable with ability to build rapport with residents About Us: The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is the UK’s leading not-for-profit developer of housing for over 55s.
