Global Treasury Manager
Overview
Totum Partners are delighted to be working with an International law firm and assist them in their search for a Global Treasury Manager to provide treasury expertise within the firm. The GTM will provide an oversight of the global treasury activities and monitor compliance of Treasury policies and procedures. The main duties will include identifying, monitoring and minimising foreign exchange and global treasury operational risk whilst maximising financial return from surplus funds and minimise interest payable. The GTM will also oversee banking relationships to ensure appropriate service levels are received at a competitive cost and that the firm is compliant with reporting and other covenants and manage short term investments. The role will also involve having an overview of daily cash balances in all currencies, including daily cash positioning, effective utilisation of surplus funds, short-term investments and use of exchange swaps and other cost-effective banking products as necessary. You will also consolidate currency cashflow positions from forecasts prepared by operating units and provide commentary and feedback to forecast participants on comparison of forecasts to actual results. The role will involve the calculation of FX exposures and trading in foreign exchange as required to keep exchange risks within acceptable parameters of the Treasury policy and report regularly and as required on cash balances, borrowings, investments, exchange and interest rate exposures and the status of any outstanding financial instruments. Applicants should be qualified accountants alongside an AMCT or MCT qualification and have significant international treasury experience ideally within the legal or professional sector. You must have prior experience of dealing with banks, cash management, FX analysis and FX hedging desirable and have experience of working within a multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional environment. Excellent communication skills are necessary (written and oral) with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, orally or in writing with all levels of stakeholders and staff including partners and senior members of the management team.
