Overview

Our client is a world leader with heavy commercial vehicles and a reputation for supplying quality products that meet worldwide expectations of performance, cost and delivery. Responsibilities: Good detailed knowledge of a wide range of engineering Engineering experience - Heavy manufacturing of commercial vehicles - HGV/Agricultural machines/mining and quarrying vehicles/hydraulics and pneumatics/diggers/heavy construction vehicles Experience designing for a number of the manufacturing processes used including casting, welded fabrication, vac forming processes Understanding geometric tolerances in mechanical components Understanding of quality levels for this type of engineering 3D CAD modelling, general, arrangement and production drawings Experience using DFM techniques Cost / quality / timing / BOM Well developed problem solving skills and attention to detail You will have a degree in mechanical engineering or the ability to demonstrate the same level of competence through a combination of other relevant qualifications, training and experience. DVP&R (design validation plan and report) DFMEA - Design failure mode and effect analysis YOU WILL NEED Efficient use SOLID EDGE 2D/3D Working knowledge of change management software Working knowledge of Microsoft project software Awareness of COSMOS EDGE/COSMOS M or equivalent FEA software package Awareness of WORKING MODEL or equivalent dynamics software packages Working knowledge of industry standards and BS308 / BS8888
