MY CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR A CAPACITY MANAGER TO BE BASED IN MILTON KEYNES CONTRACT DURATION: UNTIL DECEMBER 2020 INITIALLY RATE: UP TO £340 PER DAY(INSIDE IR35 SO CANDIDATES MUST BE WILLING TO USE AN UMBRELLA COMPANY) CLEARANCE REQUIRED: SC CLEARANCE ALREADY HELD OR WILLING TO GO THROUGH CLEARANCE Responsibilities: Establish Capacity base line for each customer contract Ensure that there is adequate IT capacity to meet required levels of service, and that senior IT management is correctly advised on how to match capacity and demand and to ensure that use of existing capacity is optimized Management of end to end Capacity Management processes Management of and an understanding of contractual commitments and deliverables Identifying, with the Service Level Manager, capacity requirements through discussions with the business users Understanding the current usage of the infrastructure and IT services, and the maximum capacity of each component Liaise with Incident and Problem management to assess impact of Capacity related threshold breaches Accumulate information for all new or changed infrastructures and define expansion requirements Perform trend analysis, estimate overall growth (decrease) of user demand Forecasting future capacity requirements based on business plans, usage trends, sizing of new services, etc. Production, regular review and revision of the Capacity Plan, in line with the organization's business planning cycle, identifying current usage and forecast requirements during the period covered by the plan Analysis of usage and performance data, and reporting on Service and Component performance against targets contained in SLAs Ensuring that all changes are assessed for their impact on capacity and performance and attending CAB meetings when appropriate Producing regular management reports that include current usage of resources, trends and forecasts Maintaining a knowledge of future demand for IT services and predicting the effects of demand on performance service levels Determining performance service levels that are maintainable and cost-justified Coaching, advising and mentoring junior staff members Contributing to the financial planning of the resources Managing the analysts and data input to the tooling to enable service Senior management communication and presentation Skills Required: Significant experience in a capacity management background covering server, storage, networks, virtualised environments, applications and databases Excellent MS Office skills - particularly Excel Experience in Capacity Management toolsets - BMC BPA; BMC TSCO; SolarWinds; Entuity; SQL; Spectrum; advantageous. Experience of BMC TSCO a distinct advantage Able to respond to demands quickly and efficiently ITIL Foundation a minimum - A sound understanding of ITIL methodology / service management best practices Excellent communication and persuasion skills - and ability to build successful relationships across a wide range of IT teams and senior management Proven skills in raw data analysis and developing best practice and repeatable processes Ability to work under pressure / in a pressurised environment Ability to own, address and resolve problems Excellent planning and organisational skills Financially aware - understands and can manage the financial impacts on the account i.e. projects / entitlement Excellent report writing and presentation skills LA International Computer Consultants Ltd is an HMG Approved Consultancy and operates as an IT & Engineering Consultancy or as an Employment Business & Agency, depending upon the precise nature of the work, for security cleared jobs or non-clearance vacancies, we welcome applications from all sections of the community and from people with diverse experience and backgrounds.
