Support Worker / Learning Disability / Supported Living Location: Northampton Salary: £8.72 per hour Shifts covering 7 days including weekends Job type: Full time permanent with full training and career development Start date: ASAP Immediate opportunities available. You will be making a real difference to individuals with Autism, severe or profound learning disabilities and mental health issues and helping them to adjust to everyday life. Here at Aspirations Care you will offer individual support and encouragement to help some amazing people to live a fulfilling a life as possible. It can be challenging, however the rewards are endless and you will have a real sense of achievement. The role: You will be supporting adults with complex needs and behaviours that challenge to live in their own homes, helping them to develop new skills and increase their independence. You will build trust and understanding with the people we support. Enable access to the community and get involved in various activities and hobbies in order to have a better quality of life. Support our people with daily tasks such as gardening, cooking or watching a movie. You will need to use your resilience and patience on a daily basis and be able to react quickly to difficult situations. Complete and update care plans Administer medication as required. Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met and to protect the Adults rights to live safely and free from abuse or neglect. Skills and experience required: Previous experience is preferred but not essential as full training is offered. You may already have experience caring for a family member or friend and want to turn that personal experience into a career. Compassionate and patient with the desire to make a difference Ability to remain calm under pressure. A good sense of humour. Resilience is key Passionate about providing the best care. Driving licence and transport preferred but not essential.
