Overview
Our Professional Services client has a permanent vacancy for an IT Support Assistant. The IT department works as a team in providing an efficient IT service to all the firm's users. The job holder is responsible for providing first line IT support and to assist in resolving day to day IT problems/queries in order to ensure that smooth running of the IT systems takes place at all times. Previous IT helpdesk experience is essential. The Role To deliver practical services of excellence that are focused on user’s needs. To provide first line IT support and to work with other members of the IT department in resolving day to day IT problems, ensuring that all queries are recorded and followed up as necessary. To log and maintain calls with both software and hardware maintenance providers. To assist in the implementation of new software packages within and across the firm. To maintain database records of users and the computer network. To review new technology and keep abreast of changes in technology primarily which will involve regularly reading periodicals, communicating and putting forward information and suggestions as appropriate. To learn and develop a thorough knowledge of all software products used by the firm. Responsible for purchasing all IT consumables. Develop Intranet. Maintain website. Set up new users. Set up new PCs. To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
