Overview
A rare opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a cutting-edge medical device manufacturer and help to drive forward their NPD projects over the months and years to come. The Company Investment backed and with long-term funding, they are now looking to expand the engineering team to allow further product development. As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work with a close-knit team of mechanical and electronics engineers to develop vital medical devices that help to improve the efficiency of life-saving surgery. Mechanical Design Engineer – Responsibilities Collaborate with the Project Lead and design team to create early stage concepts that meet the desired user and functional requirements Produce sketches, concepts detailed drawings and CAD models Work alongside the team and Project Leader to ensure robust designs and that risk is reduced, using techniques such as FMEAs and testing Attendance at Management Reviews and Design Reviews and leading these if required Mechanical Design Engineer – Requirements BEng or MEng Mechanical Engineering 5 years commercial experience in mechanical design (ideally within a highly regulated environment such as medical/aerospace or automotive) A proven history in the design & development of electro-mechanical assemblies CAD – SolidWorks Design for manufacture – injection moulding, sheet metal and machined parts Ability to conduct FMEAs and fault finding Previous experience designing products to ISO 13485 standards would be hugely benefical Why Apply?
