MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE PLANNER "Excellent development opportunity in factory/plant mechanical maintenance" C35000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits Location:Cardiff, South Wales Commutable from Cardiff, Newport, Caerphilly, Penarth, Bridgend, Barry, Aberthaw, Chepstow, Swansea, Monmouth, Bristol, Ross on Wye. This key and influential role is suited to someone wishing to gain supervisory experience and/or those wishing to gain experience within more senior engineering roles. The Planner will apply maintenance methodology to define operational steps, manpower, spares and other resources necessary to achieve efficient and safe maintenance in line with technical standards. Excellent long term prospects for this well-known business, part of an international group, this role is available due to promotion of the incumbent. The Role ?Define the detailed methodology for carrying out mechanical execution tasks taking into account priorities and the required resources, skills coordination and supervision. ?Ensure that all necessary materials are available for planned operations and meet the required quantity and quality. ?Prepare time and cost estimates for work orders and job plans to help optimise resource allocation. ?Formalise and update: ?detailed job-plans for important maintenance operations (technically and/or financially important) ?create detailed safe methods of work ?records and statistics ?technical documentation ?Draw up regular inventories of the spare parts and ensure their availability in co-ordination with the stores. ?Maintain and update information in SAP maintenance planning system. ?Participate in planning major equipment overhauls ?Participate in shutdown co-ordination across all departments ?Produce tender specifications in line with standards for engineering services and spares for issue by the purchasing dept. ?Manage general and specific technical documentation in the technical library. ?Manage equipment codification and records. ?Manage and supervise contract teams ?Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental Standards. Your Background ?Education to HNC, degree, equivalent and/or time served apprenticeship is desirable ?Strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment combined with heavy industrial process experience or other highly systematic processes such as automotive, chemical or aerospace ?Technical knowledge of preventative, predictive and systematic maintenance using databases, CMMS, Project Software etc ?Familiar with local safety rules and regulations inc. LOTOTO ?Knowledge of heavy process industries is useful. ?Computer literacy, including SAP, Maximo and Microsoft Project desirable ?IOSH or other safety qualification is desirable ?The successful candidate should possess a positive and "can do" attitude with excellent interpersonal stakeholder skills ?As a results driven individual you will need to show high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in order to be effective in this role.
