If you love helping people, then we have the perfect role for you We are recruiting for a Practitioner within our Supported living services in Fife. If you are a person-centred compassionate individual who likes a different challenge every day, if you feel you can support people with complex communication and support needs to live an individual and interesting life then we would love to hear from you Meet the team at Finglassie The service supports 8 adults across two adjoining bungalows with four people living in each house. Sense Scotland supports them with their tenancies and provides 24hr support within all aspects of their personal and social living. The service is a purpose-built bungalow with a large garden that is ideal for people with multiple sensory impairment, mobility issues and additional learning disability. A core team are based in the service with two Supervisors onsite and a Locality manager nearby. The physical needs of the supported individuals are unique to them but do include Epilepsy, diabetes, gastrostomy and cerebral palsy. The supported individuals are assisted with social integration and support to access the community through a range of activities which include swimming, rebound therapy, ice hockey, social events, concerts, and education. Working closely with the individual’s families and the local authority social work department to ensure if there are any changes to support needs, we can meet these needs promptly. Current shift patterns and staffing ratio: The shift start and finish times can vary depending on the needs of the individuals supported. The predominant shift pattern incorporates an early shift, a late shift and a night shift within the core building. In one house there is a 4-5/4 staffing ratio and in the other house it is a 3-4/4 staffing ratio depending on the day’s activities for the individuals, the waking night is a shared night of 3 staff over both houses. The role of Practitioner could be the post for you if: You hold an SVQ3 in health and social care Skilled in record-keeping, including recording incidents and complaints and maintaining records You set and demonstrate good standards of work practice, by offering support, supervision and on shift training through example You will be confident in your ability to guide qualified and unqualified staff, students or volunteers You can deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner You are comfortable and confident in using a computer and are IT literate Have a good knowledge of services Sense Scotland provide An understanding of Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC) and care standards within Scotland Closing date for applications is Sunday 15th March 2020.
