Project Controller - INSIDE IR35 A Project Controller is required to work on a twelve month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Lancashire Overview of the Project Controller contract role As a Project Controller employee, you will be working in the overall management team supporting a variety of high skill capability areas, using your experience and knowledge to support internal and external contracts across our various capability areas based and offer support to the test environment and our project customers. Your main responsibilities will be to support estimating, generate schedules, project spend monitoring, preparing and presenting spend data into contract owners and contract closure activities. An ability to liase with engineering / commercial / procurement / finance areas to name a few will be required on a daily basis. The role will involve a mixture of using theoretical knowledge, recognised analysis techniques and presentation skills that supports delivery of key contracts. You will be provided with the opportunity to experience a variety of capability areas, as well as the potential for exposure to the wider Air Sector organisation as well as external contracts. The role sits within a stable team of 200 employees, who have evolved their knowledge base over the many years of Test and Evaluation activities across multiple programmes of work. Your main responsibilities as a Project Controller employee can involve: Accurate reporting of contract information in accordance with time, cost and quality coupled with commercial awareness and effect on external cost and revenue. Supporting estimate leads in the development of proposals, including preparation of material to support reviews therein. Formulating forward looking schedules and resourcing estimates based on Firm and predicted workload Supporting the capability manager in estimating for the development of our capabilities (e.g. test facilities, IT infrastructure and IT toolsets) and supporting the procurement of new or replacement capabilities. Support the delivery of spend and programme information to the wider business Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following: Providing project control support to the T&E CAM and Operations' Manager Managing the estimating process from RFQ through to Contract award. Ensuring preparation of realistic plans and schedules, which reflect a robust understanding of dependencies and execution logic Ensuring and enacting the Change Control process. Managing project change through the formal Baseline Change Process The Individual Project Control Skills: Knowledge and ideally experience of :- Understanding of R&O management principles combined with practical experience of the process of defining and managing R&Os in a project environment. Knowledge of Commercial, Finance and Procurement processes and practical experience of their interrelationships with project control processes.
