Overview
TPP are recruiting for a charity that work hard to achieve better outcomes for our children. They are looking for a creative innovator,, experienced in developing evidence based models of best practice within Children's Services. These roles will test bed new ways of working to stimulate systemic change and market growth. The post holder will lead on the provision of Early Support for children and young people in London. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on services into excellence and to be a part of our developing portfolio of innovation work. Job Purpose: This post will be key in developing and delivering a strategic vision for a thematic programme which will help transform the lives of children and young people in London. In addition, working within a corporate multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will be expected to develop innovative models of best practice which will ensure better outcomes building stronger families, safer childhoods leading to positive futures. Some of the key responsibilities: Within thematic specialisms, contributes to the strategic vision and the creation and delivery of the London Business Plan in collaboration with the Director. Within thematic specialisms, responsible for the policy formulation, operations and strategic decision-making of children's services conjunction with the Director ensuring it is aligned to the Corporate strategic vision and London planning processes. Leads and manages the overall process of development and implementation of thematic business plans within children's services operations working within a corporate multi-disciplinary team. Monitors demographic trends and other key external factors in order to ensure that the children's services operations are effectively delivered and at the forefront of practice and innovation. Measuring impact within thematic specialism regarding social value on return on investment To ensure that children, young people and adult service users influence the work we do, through co-production, evaluation and providing feedback about the impact of their voice. Some of the key Activities: Responsible for the direct management and leadership of CS in a designated thematic area ensuring the overall direction and quality of service provision is maintained and developed. Accountable for ensuring that safety and protection of children and young people is practiced and understood by all staff and volunteers in accordance with policies and procedures and relevant legislative policy and procedure within the locality. Identify and engage with the most vulnerable children and young people in the locality and identify resources, activities and services to help them in the most appropriate way. Ensures that robust systems of monitoring impact, health and safety and all other aspects of quality assurance are in place and met. Implements contracts and agreements, with clear indicators of performance in relation to quantitative and qualitative aspects of service and mechanisms for monitoring effectiveness and efficiency. Create, lead and inspire a highly effective leadership team that is outstanding in its commitment to transforming the lives of children and young people. Drive organisational, team and individual learning by developing and participating in internal and external networks and other appropriate knowledge sharing forums to share best practice and learn from others Meet people related key performance indicators (KPIs) e.g. sickness absence and employee engagement scores and that succession and talent management plans are in place. PERSON SPECIFICATION Experience Demonstrable experience at senior level of leading and managing children's services in a social care setting Significant experience of internal and external collaborative working. Demonstrable evidence of achieving positive results within a multi-matrix environment Evidence of personal impact both operationally and strategically A depth of experience of working within a child protection framework and a clear understanding of child protection statutory systems Skills/Abilities Passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people Ability to get quickly from high-level thinking to practical actions. Inquiring, curious and challenging mind, receptive to big ideas but analytically capable of testing them against operational reality. Excellent written and verbal communications, able to operate confidently and credibly at all levels of the organisation from senior stakeholders to children and young people. Ability to present to audiences from varied backgrounds Ability to innovate and be creative.
