Finance Manager - Leading Charity-Cheltenham, Gloucestershire - £35,000 - £39,232 per annum - Hays Accountancy Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance partnering with the Cheltenham Trust to recruit for a dynamic and hands-on Finance Manager. The Trust engages audiences through the arts, heritage, performance, tourism, sport, and play and wellbeing opportunities. The historic and contemporary facilities across the town include: The Wilson - Gloucestershire's premier Art Gallery and Museum, Cheltenham Town Hall, Pittville Pump Room, Leisure at Cheltenham and the Prince of Wales Stadium. An exciting permanent opportunity to join a leading Charity where you will support the Head of Finance managing the activities of the finance team, ensuring effective financial controls are adhered to, and delivering accurate financial reporting. Your new role Reporting into the Head of Finance you will manage the day to day finance operations, maintaining appropriate financial controls for all activity which comply with Trust Financial Rules. You will assist in the development of procedures, guidance and training for budget managers, along with annual finance work plans, and assist in development/coaching of the finance team. You will produce accurate month end budget reports and forecasts, produce management information/accounts for key stakeholders, prepare quarterly VAT returns and ensure HMRC compliance with VAT, Gift Aid and Corporation Tax. You will take a lead on the production of the Trust's annual Consolidated and Trading Company Accounts, ensuring compliance with the FRS102 and the Charity SORP, along with liaise with external audit and maintain asset register. You will drive continual improvement on financial and management reporting, along with the development of cash flow forecasting and be involved in various accounting projects. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this varied Finance Manager position you will need experience within a similar position, ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or working towards completion of your qualification or qualified by experience. You will need both Management and Financial Accounting experience, strong communication skills to build relationships internally/externally and at all levels along with having key MS Excel skills. You will have experience of developing financial processes/systems, ability to meet strict deadlines and respond to business growth. Experience within the Charity sector and managing small accounting teams would be advantageous.
