Working as the Residential Child Care Worker you will not only be responsible for the basic care and protection of the children but also serve as a positive role model, inspiring the children in all aspects of their life. As the Residential Child Care Worker, you will build an appropriate relationship and show resilient with focus to motive the need for education and enjoy community-based actives. The service provided in Leeds is rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted and has been specifically designed to meet the needs of children aged between 7 and 11. The home benefits from the addition of a DfE registered school onsite, offering Key Stage 2 and preparation for a smooth transition to Key Stage 3 in a mainstream setting. As the Residential Child Care Worker , you will be positive people, resilient and not easily shocked as you will be required to be consistent, support, love and guide the children unconditionally while being faced with some high-level challenging behaviour including physical and verbal aggression. You will need to be able to bounce back from tough times with optimism and understanding and to keep smiling whatever the weather. Be strong minded, capable, have a secure understanding of what makes a positive parent, open minded and not afraid to get involved. They need someone who can learn quickly, is willing to go above and beyond, is fun and outgoing but above all is warm, loving, caring and forgiving. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS As the Residential Child Care Worker, you will have the following: Must have a Full Driving license Good written and IT skills Able to communicate with children, colleagues and external customers Able to actively listen to others Ability to work individually and as part of a team Be calm in situations of crisis and follow the lead of a shift leader Must have a passion for working with children QCF Level 3 in Children and Young people is desirable.
