Overview

My old man says Children are all snotty little herberts He would not get this job as Residential Manager for this nationally award winning provider of Specialist Children's Services. You on the other hand, recognise that kids don't all get a good start in life. You've also decided that a career in residential children's care is definitely for you. You have experience in the field already and understand what a difference quality educational and therapeutic support has to the wellbeing of youngsters. Also, you know that the environment youngsters call home is important too and as a result, it would appeal to you to manage a high quality service that is contemporary in design and all set within a pleasant semi-rural community. As for you: Well firstly you will understand and have knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations including the latest quality standards. You will be someone with management experience, preferably with a level 5 management and leadership qualification or the equivalent. The catch: Well work is work we can't deny it, but if you know a bit about emotional regulation and boundary management and might be able to describe transference, then you probably know how to make these type services fun places to work in. You can rely on a senior management team who give great support to each other and an established Deputy Manager who has been there since the service opened in 2018. Career progression? Look no further this company is going places and growing quickly. The very reason for this vacancy is that the previous manager is being internally promoted to a regional support manager. You could be next. And the package? Well let's just say it is a competitive package of between £28,000 to £38,000 depending on experience, with fabulous benefits including an enhanced company pension, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, life assurance, sick pay and even a summer festival to name but a few. So, if you have a Level 5 or equivalent in Health and Social Care (preferably but not essentially in Children and Young People), leadership skills and a good attitude, then get in touch and don't delay. There's much more to tell you about this very exciting opportunity Requirements for this position In order to be considered for this role you must have experience working within residential services, specifically in a management capacity. You must hold your NVQ 3 in health and social care and either have, or be willing to work towards your level 5 in Leadership and Management. A good understanding of mental health and the issues young people face will put you in good stead as well as experience of working with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or Ofsted.
